Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated August 13, 2026
NightRyders respects your privacy. This policy explains how Night Ride Transit LLC (“NightRyders,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information through the NightRyders app, website, and related services.
NightRyders lets people vote for nightlife destinations and see combined results. Votes shown to other users are anonymous. Your name, email, phone number, and other direct account identifiers are not shown with your vote.
Information we collect
Account information
We may collect your name, email, phone number, age or birth date, gender selection, username or account identifier, and login information. We use it to run and secure accounts, communicate with users, and improve NightRyders.
Voting and nightlife activity
We may collect your venue choice, whether you choose to stay in, the related city or market, the date and time, and demographic information used in combined statistics. A vote may be linked internally to your account to prevent duplicate or fraudulent voting, enforce rules, and keep results accurate. Your identity is not displayed publicly with it.
Location
If you grant permission, we may use device location to identify your market, show nearby venues, send relevant notifications, and improve results. You can change location access in device settings.
Device and technical information
We may receive device type, operating system, app version, IP address, device or app identifiers, crash and performance information, logs, and general usage information. This helps us secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service.
How we use information
We use information to provide and personalize NightRyders; create and authenticate accounts; record votes; show anonymous, combined crowd and demographic trends; select relevant cities and venues; send service messages and permitted notifications; prevent spam, fraud, abuse, manipulation, and duplicate voting; maintain security; understand performance; improve features; answer support requests; and meet legal obligations.
How voting results are shared
Results may show totals, venue popularity, crowd trends, combined age ranges and gender information, and similar statistics. They do not place a user's direct identity beside a vote. If an optional identifying feature is added, we will provide an appropriate choice or seek consent. We may use minimum group sizes, grouping, or suppression to reduce the chance of identifying someone from combined demographic information.
Combined and de-identified information
We may use statistical, aggregated, or de-identified information to study venue interest, city activity, general audience makeup, popular times, and market trends. We may share these insights with venues or business partners when they are not reasonably intended to identify anyone. We will not label information de-identified while intentionally trying to re-identify people.
When we share information
We do not sell or publicly disclose an individual vote together with the voter's direct identity.
Service providers
Companies supporting hosting, databases, authentication, analytics, crash reporting, customer support, communications, or security may process information for us.
Venues and business partners
We may provide aggregated or de-identified nightlife and audience insights. We do not give partners a public list matching users with their votes.
Legal, safety, and business changes
We may disclose information to comply with law or legal process; protect NightRyders, users, or others; investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or agreement violations; or establish and defend legal claims. Information may transfer during a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or asset sale, subject to law.
Analytics, advertising, and notifications
We may use analytics to understand usage, performance, and engagement. If advertising is introduced, partner processing will be covered by this policy, consent choices, and app store disclosures. Where required, we will ask before tracking across other companies' apps or websites.
With permission, we may send voting reminders, result notices, nightlife updates, relevant venue or city activity, and important announcements. You can control push notifications in device settings.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain legitimate records, protect security and integrity, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and follow law. When no longer needed, we may delete, anonymize, or aggregate it, subject to legal requirements.
Deleting your account and data
You can request deletion in the app under Profile, Settings, then Delete account, or contact us. After a valid request, we delete or de-identify personal information tied to the account unless retention is reasonably necessary or legally permitted for security, fraud prevention, compliance, dispute resolution, or enforcing agreements. Information already irreversibly aggregated or de-identified may remain because it can no longer be tied to an identifiable account.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards. No storage system, internet transmission, or security measure can guarantee absolute security. Protect your credentials and contact us if you think your account was compromised.
Children's privacy
NightRyders is for users who meet the service's minimum age and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their personal information. If we learn that we collected it contrary to law, we will take appropriate steps to delete it. A higher minimum age may apply to certain features or locations.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may be able to request access, correction, or deletion; learn about certain disclosures; withdraw consent; opt out of certain uses or disclosures; or exercise other rights under local law. We may verify your identity first and will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising an applicable right.
Third-party venues and services
NightRyders may show third-party venues and businesses. We do not control their privacy practices. Their terms and policies may apply when you interact with them directly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as NightRyders, our practices, or laws change. For material changes, we may provide notice in the app, on the website, or another suitable way. The date above shows the latest revision.
